A riverside street in Broughty Ferry has been closed after severe flooding caused damage to the road surface.
Torrential rain overnight on Tuesday evening and again on Wednesday left a section of Douglas Terrace completely submerged.
Underground water pipes overflowed after struggling to cope with the heavy downpours.
The emergency repairs mean it is closed to vehicles and will be re-opened only when deemed safe.
A spokesperson from Scottish Water said: “During weather events such as those being experienced at the moment, drains and water courses can struggle to cope with the amount of surface water from buildings, footpaths and roadways.
“With potentially further adverse weather forecast in the coming days, we will continue to closely monitor water levels across the city and will to work collaboratively with relevant bodies and services to resolve any issues and ensure customer safety.”
A spokesperson for Dundee City Council said: “The recent level of rainfall, in such a short period of time, has caused damage to the road.
“We are taking action to tackle the problem and to have the road re-opened to the public as soon as is safe.”
The incident on Douglas Terrace followed emergency action on the nearby Stannergate.
A section of the road was closed off after heavy rain caused a manhole to collapse. A car fell partially into the hole and had to be pulled out.
