A man has been charged after police seized heroin after a raid on a home in Fife.

A quantity of drugs, believed to be worth several hundred pounds, was recovered after officers swooped on a house in Keir Hardie Wynd in Methil yesterday morning.

A 37-year-old was arrested and charged in connection with the recovery. A 57-year-old woman was also arrested.

Reports will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal in due course.

Inspector Paul Gillespie of Levenmouth Police Station said: “Local officers have been working tirelessly over the past few weeks to provide high visibility patrols across the Levenmouth area, to provide reassurance to our local communities.

“Our local officers have also been continuing to pro-actively deal with drug criminality during lockdown.

“Levenmouth is working closely with partners, as part of our Improving Levenmouth Together initiative, to improve the lives of the local communities. The executive action taken on Tuesday will be followed up with referrals to our colleagues across a range of services to provide support to all parties involved.

“I would like to thank the public for their assistance in identifying persons involved in drug dealing and would urge people to contact Police Scotland via 101, or Crimestoppers, to report any drug dealing activity or other criminality.

“Police Scotland and Fife Division remain committed to tackling criminality and providing reassurance to our local communities. I would urge the local public in Levenmouth to continue to work with my colleagues and assist in ensuring Levenmouth continues to be a safe place to live.”
