Woman taken to hospital after her own dog attacks her at Fife beauty spot

A woman was left needing hospital treatment after her own dog attacked her at a popular beauty spot in Fife.

A number of  police vehicles as well as well as an ambulance were called to Balbirnie Park shortly after noon on Tuesday following reports of an incident involving a woman and a dog.

A spokesperson for Police Scotland, said: “We were called to Balbirnie Park in Markinch, Glenrothes, around 12.20pm on Tuesday, August 18,  following a report of a woman being bitten by her dog.

“The woman was taken to the Victoria Hospital in Kirkcaldy for treatment.

“The dog is in the care of a family member.”
