Fife juggler racks up millions of views online

A Tayport teenager has found success online by attracting millions of viewers to his juggling videos.

Luke Davies, 19, has racked up three million hits on one Instagram video alone.

He is now hoping to work his way into the record books having made several attempts which are awaiting verification.

The talented juggler taught himself the circus skill, after he stumbled across some juggling balls at a local gala nine years ago.

“When I was 10 I went to a gala and there were a bunch of juggling balls on the ground,” he said.

“The people at the stall were on stilts, and they weren’t near the balls, and people were using them in a big game of catch. I decided to try and juggle. I was able to do the basic three ball within about five minutes.”

Since then, the customer service assistant has continued to develop his abilities and has received sponsorship from two major juggling companies as footage of his tricks have gone viral on some of the biggest pages on Facebook.

He is also waiting to hear from Guinness World Records as to whether they will accept one of his videos as evidence he has juggled the most balls while balancing a juggling club on their nose.

In the long term, Luke doesn’t see himself moving into juggling full time, but hopes to get a few more records under his belt.

He said: “I’d like to match the most balls ever juggled. The current record is 13, and I’m able to do 11 and can practically do 12. I should be able to match the 13, and hopefully beat it.”

Luke added that there are many variations on juggling technique, which he has seen while attending various events around the country.

He said: “There are a lot of different styles in juggling. There’s not just one specific thing. If you got people who juggled professionally, and me, we wouldn’t be able to do what the other one does.”

“I have found someone who has a similar style to me – it’s the closest I’ve found, and they’re in England.

“I met them last year at a juggling event and we give each other challenges to do.”

Luke’s videos can be seen on YouTube or on his Instagram profile.
