39-year-old arrested after police find Tayport man in critical condition

Police vehicles were spotted in Tayport on Sunday.

Emergency services rushed to a Tayport address after a man was found seriously injured.

Police attended the scene on Castle Street at around 9:45am on Sunday, with the area subsequently taped off to the public.

The injured man was rushed to hospital where he remains in a critical condition.

A 39-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the incident.

A source said: “The police have been there for hours today.

“I have no idea what has happened.

“There has been an officer stationed outside of the close and the cordon appears to be covering a large section the front garden.”

Locals claimed that police cordoned off the area for hours.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Police were called around 9.45am on Sunday, October 17, 2021 following the report of a man being found seriously injured at a property on Castle Street, Tayport.

“Emergency services attended and a man has been taken to hospital where he remains in a critical condition.

“A 39-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the incident and enquiries remain ongoing.

“Anyone with any information surrounding the incident should contact police on 101 quoting incident number 1153 of Sunday, 16 October, 2021.”
