Community leaders have been quick to offer their condolences following the death of a three year-old boy on a Fife farm.
Stuart Nelson is believed to have been struck by a forklift truck at Cuttle Hill Farm, on the outskirts of Crossgates.
Local MSP Alex Rowley said: “The whole community will be deeply saddened by this tragic accident.
“Our thoughts and prayers are with Stuart’s family.”
His parliamentary colleague Annabelle Ewing added: “What a truly dreadful thing to happen.
“I can only begin to imagine the anguish poor Stuart’s family are feeling right now.
“My thoughts are with them at this awful time.”
Liz Beattie, the vice-chair of the Crossgates and Mossgreen Community Council, added: “The family are highly thought of and respected within the community.
“Obviously our thoughts are very much with them at this time.”
Meanwhile, Reverend Gavin Boswell, minister of Crossgates Church of Scotland, said: “This is a tragedy that has left members of the close knit community shocked and stunned.
“It is truly heartbreaking to lose a child under any circumstances.
“Our thoughts and prayers go out to the family at this extremely difficult time”.
