A man killed in an early-morning crash near Lockerbie on Monday has been named as Fifer Michael O’Donnell.
The 58-year-old from Rosyth died after his Ford Kuga was involved in a collision with a BMW on the A74(M) at around 4.40am.
His heartbroken daughter Amy paid tribute to her dad in an emotional Facebook post on Wednesday.
She said: “We have never known life without you dad and it’s already so strange not having you here.
“We love you dearly. You changed our lives and we will forever be grateful to have known a man as strong as you were.”
Mr O’Donnell is also survived by his wife Sammi, a hairdresser, and three other children.
Tributes have poured in for the popular family man, described by one friend as “one of the best guys around”.
Others said he was a great dad and husband who would do anything for anyone.
Mr O’Donnell was pronounced dead at the scene of Monday’s accident, which closed the southbound lanes of the A74 for several hours while investigations were carried out.
Another man was taken to Dumfries and Galloway Royal Infirmary but was discharged after treatment.
Inquiries into the cause of the crash are ongoing and witnesses are asked to contact Police Scotland on 101.
