Three charged after £53,000 drug hauls in Kirkcaldy and Dunfermline

Police in Fife have seized £53,000 worth of illegal drugs in two separate raids this week.

Three people are due to appear in court following the action in Kirkcaldy and Dunfermline under Operation Prospect.

More than 150 cannabis plans with an estimated street value of £50,000 and more than £5,000 in cash were seized after after a warrant was executed at an address in Kennedy Crescent, Kirkcaldy, on Tuesday.

Officers said they were acting on information from the community.

A 29-year-old man and a 20-year-old woman have been charged and are expected to appear at Kirkcaldy Sheriff Court on Thursday.

Meanwhile, a 38-year-old man was charged in connection with the supply of controlled drugs after £3,000 worth of illegal substances were discovered at an address in Inchkeith Drive, Dunfermline.

He is due to appear at Dunfermline Sheriff Court on Thursday.

Detective Sergeant Craig Fraser of Kirkcaldy CID said: “Our communities have told us that drug misuse and associated disorder remains a priority to them and Operation Prospect is Fife Division’s commitment to tackling this type of criminality.

“Drugs cause real harm to our communities and it’s important that the public continue to work with us to combat this.

“Anyone with information or concerns about drug crime is urged to report this to Police Scotland on 101, or to Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
