A well-known Fife hotel has gone on the market.
The Elgin Hotel, overlooking the Forth at Charlestown, has been put on the market for offers over £650,000 by business property adviser Christie & Co.
Built in 1912, the hotel and wedding venue has 15 bedrooms, most of which take in the spectacular views across the river.
But what makes the hotel very unusual is that it has its own chapel, with capacity for up to 70 guests, to hold wedding ceremonies as well as receptions.
It sits in two acres, with potential for further development as historic consent has been provided for a detached four bed cottage on the rear side of the hotel.
The plot has the potential to add 40 bedrooms.
The current owner, Rob Wemyss, is now looking to retire, having owned and operated the business for a number of years.
He said: “I have loved running this unique hotel for the last 23 years, I will sorely miss the beautiful views of the three iconic bridges and the relaxed atmosphere.
“Many of my great team have been with me from the start and have supported me tirelessly over the years.
“I feel the time has come to pass the baton to a new operator to fully develop the potential.”
Stuart Drysdale, associate director at Christie & Co’s Edinburgh office, added: “The sale presents a unique opportunity to purchase an established business in a popular coastal town.”
