The family of missing Glenrothes man Allan Bryant Jnr hope to raise £20,000 to offer as a reward for information.

The funds will be held in a separate bank account from other fundraising efforts and be given to anyone who provides information which results in the 27-year-old being found.

Allan Jnr was last seen leaving Styx nightclub in Glenrothes following an engagement party with pals on November 3 2013.

Despite a large scale missing person investigation by the police and enquiries by his own family, no trace of him has ever been found.

The family have previously told how they fear their loved one has been killed and his body hidden.

But the police have maintained there is no evidence of that and continue to treat the case as that of a missing person.

Allan Bryant Jnr appeal to feature on BBC’s Crimewatch

His dad, Allan Snr, is now appealing for members of the public to help raise vital cash that can be put towards their new five-figure reward plans.

The 52-year-old said: “Over the years, we’ve raised quite a lot of money which has gone on banners and flyers and the van for Allan’s appeal.

“This time, these funds for the reward money won’t be touched and they will be put into a separate bank account.

“People have always supported us in the past and we’re hoping they’ll do the same again this time around.

“We’ve offered a reward before but it obviously wasn’t enough to get whoever have the information about Allan talking.

“So we hope that £20,000 will encourage them to come forward and tell us what happened to him and where he is so we can end this nightmare.

“We will never stop looking for him until that day comes. I’m just doing what any dad would do if their child went missing.”

Mr Bryant also told how a recent appeal on Crimewatch had seen a handful of calls put in to Crimestoppers about their son’s case.
