An appeal for information about a smash which claimed the life of a young Kirkcaldy father has been renewed.

Ryan Leigh Dorrill, 25, died following a collision on the A915 Standing Stane road on Hogmanay.

Police want to speak to anyone who was in contact with him on the evening of Sunday, December 30, or the early hours of Monday.

As they confirmed his identity and released a photograph of the father-of-two, police said inquiries continued into the crash.

Mr Dorrill was seriously injured when his Vauxhall Astra left the road and collided with a tree at around 10am, just east of the Checkbar junction leading to Coaltown of Wemyss.

Sergeant Stephen Quinn said: “Tragically, this collision resulted in the death of a young man  and our thoughts are with Ryan’s family.

“We will continue to offer any support we can and at the request of the family, we are asking that their privacy be respected at this very difficult time.

“As part of our inquiries we are keen to speak to anyone who may have been in contact with Ryan during the evening of Sunday December 30 leading into the morning of the 31st.

“Likewise, we’d urge anyone who may have seen a silver Vauxhall Astra in the area of the Standing Stane road during those hours to also contact police immediately.”
