Stagecoach is to take over a vital shuttle bus service for Kirriemuir key workers.
Angus Council had previously stepped in to maintain the link between Kirrie and Forfar to make a connection with bus services in Forfar for onward travel, including the 20 and 20C services to Dundee.
Angus Provost and Kirriemuir and Dean councillor Ronnie Proctor said: “I am delighted that we were able to plug this gap in services for key workers living in Dundee and would like to thank our staff who made this possible.
“There was by all accounts a very healthy take up of the early morning shuttle bus and I am grateful that Stagecoach has made these alterations in their own local timetable to take this on from us in what we all recognise are extremely challenging and unpredictable times.
“Thanks too to our staff who made this short but important connection journey possible.”
Details of the new timetable can be found on the Stagecoach website.
The council issued a reminder that the services are for key workers, or people who have to make essential trips for food or medical reasons.
