Police were called to a primary school in Arbroath on Tuesday following an incident involving a 12-year-old boy.
The school is now looking at the circumstances of what happened after the boy had to be taken home by a family member.
A source at the school said the boy was kicking a door, lashing out, shouting threats and had to be restrained.
It is understood teachers attempted to calm the Primary 7 child down but were unable to do so.
The police were called to the school but did not take further action following the arrival of a family member.
A spokesman for Angus Council said: “A 12-year-old child was taken home by a family member following an incident at a primary school in Arbroath.
“Police were initially involved, but were not required to take further action and the school is now looking at the circumstances of the incident.”
