At least three fire appliances and several police cars responded to the incident which took place on a lane off the A92 Arbroath to Montrose road, just north of Inverkeilor.

The pesticide, found within a van, was removed by specialist firefighters.

A police spokeswoman said the find posed no risk to the public and no

The man, believed to be the van driver, was released from Ninewells Hospital in Dundee after being checked over.

At the time of the incident a police spokeswoman said: “Police Scotland and Scottish Fire and Rescue Service are in attendance at an off-road track near the A92 north of Inverkeilor and are dealing with a minor chemical incident within a vehicle.

“There is no risk to the public and the A92 remains open both directions.”
