
Angus experienced blizzard conditions in the early part of the morning, which caused significant travel disruption to local schools.
However, only one rural primary was forced to close.
Tarfside Primary School was forced to close all day because the road and footpaths around the school were frozen over.
The main problems were encountered by contract buses and taxis on the school run in the north of the county.
A Stagecoach bus encountered a tipped tractor on the way to Webster’s High in Kirriemuir, and JP Minicoaches were unable to access pickups at Dalnamer and Eastmill.
PJ Taxis were unable to operate two runs due to an overturned car blocking the Aberlemno Road on the way to Forfar.
No injuries were reported.
Glenesk Travel buses were unable to serve the Waterhead and Auchowrie road ends on the way to Edzell PS, and parents were informed.
Snow gave way to rain in the late morning, which persisted into the afternoon.
