Police have been called to a two-vehicle crash in Angus.

Officers remain at the scene on St James Road in Forfar near the Voluntary Action base, after being called out at around 5.55pm this evening.

A Vauxhall Corsa travelling eastbound on the route is understood to have collided with a van parked facing oncoming traffic.

A spokesman for Police Scotland confirmed one person had been taken to Ninewells Hospital with minor injuries.

He said a unit from the Scottish Fire and Rescue service had assisted at the scene.

Diversions remain in place in the area and motorists have been warned to expect delays.
