A man suffered a fractured ankle after a serious assault in Arbroath on Sunday morning.
Police Scotland is appealing for information about the incident, which happened between 2.15am and 2.30am in Millgate Loan between Common Brae and Mount Zion Brae.
The attacker is described as white, in his mid-20s, about 5ft 9in with a stocky to medium build. He was wearing a dark jacket, light coloured t-shirt and dark trousers.
He was with a white woman in her early 20s, about 5ft 7in and wearing a dark jacket and short dress.
