A former soldier from Arbroath has been jailed for seven years for a string of vile historic sexual offences against children.
A judge said Arnold Victor Dousse had robbed his victims of their childhood.
The 69-year-old was responsible for what Lord Armstrong described as a catalogue of “calculating, manipulating and predatory” sexual abuse from 1975 to 1981.
Dousse was placed on the sex offenders register indefinitely at Edinburgh High Court on Tuesday following his “disturbing and grave” crimes.
The pensioner’s surviving victims were in the capital to witness their tormentor being jailed.
They broke down in tears and hugged each other outside the courtroom following the sentencing.
A defence agent said Dousse had lived a “full working life” including serving his country and that when he attempted to adjust to civilian life in the early to mid-1970s he “found it very difficult and took to drink”.
