It’s the new year, which means for many of us it’s time to make resolutions and set new goals. And top of the list for a lot of us is losing weight – whether for health reasons or just to look and feel better.

For Slimming World members in Angus, 2018 was a massive year. And that trend looks set to continue in 2019.

Consultant Rae Gunn said: “The total weight loss in Angus for 2018 was 4690.5 stone – that’s nearly 30 tons!

“597 people in our Angus groups achieved their Club 10 awards, meaning they have lost 10 per cent of their body weight, which will have helped them healthwise in so many ways.

“We also had 390 members achieve their weight loss DREAM, which is absolutely amazing.

“I’m so proud of them and the consultants across the area for helping them achieve their goals.”

Rae added: “This year is our golden year and we are looking forward to seeing more members change their lives by achieving that DREAM.”

Slimming World helps members to succeed through a combination of compassionate and caring support to make healthy changes to the way they and their families shop, cook and eat by following Food Optimising. Along with Body Magic – the Slimming World term for getting active – Slimming World tackles both the physical and psychological causes of being overweight.

The Slimming World plans offer you the chance to be a part of a positive group, helping each other to reach target weights, enjoy proper food that will make sure that you aren’t hungry while the pounds drop off and reduce many health risks that come with being overweight.

This year is also Slimming World’s 50th birthday and they have created a special anniversary pack to mark the occasion. It features updates to the Food Optimising plan design to help members reach their weight loss and fitness goals.
