One of the busiest roads through Angus was blocked following a crash involving a lorry and a car on Thursday morning.

Police were called to the scene following the collision between the two vehicles on the A90 Dundee to Aberdeen road close to the McDonald’s turnoff near Forfar.

The incident took place at about 9am.

A police spokesman said: “It’s a car and a lorry, another lorry just stopped to assist.

“Nobody was injured. One lane is blocked.”

At about 10.30am a second crash on the road forced a closure of the A90 southbound.

There was a diversion in place through Forfar.

Traffic Scotland said: “The A90 is closed southbound at Glamis Junction with the A94 due to a road traffic incident.

“Motorists are advised to exercise caution on approach and should follow the local diversion through Forfar.”

The road was fully reopened at about 10.45am.
