Whitehills Hospital Prosen unit's Ann Brandie and Elaine Taylor with Amanda Kopel receiving the cheque from Martin McKay, co-writer and director and Mark Thomson, poet, writer and actor. Pic Paul Reid Following two successful performances of the locally-written play, the Night Georgie Best Came to Kirrie in Forfar and Kirriemuir it was agreed by the cast and crew that any money raised would go towards support for dementia patients in the local area. As the play was based on events that happened when Amanda and Frank Kopel ran the Roods Bar in Kirriemuir it was decided to make contact with the Prosen Unit at Whitehills Hospital, Forfar where Frank had been a patient. The staff felt an outdoor bench would benefit patients and relatives. Amanda Kopel felt that having a pleasant place to sit outdoors during visiting hours would be a wonderful addition to the garden help to provide a relaxing atmosphere for all.
