Police say a pane of glass was removed from a door in Dundee during a break-in in the city.

A property was targeted on Lytton Street on Tuesday at about 7.30pm and officers believe those responsible had an “intent to steal”.

A pane of glass was removed from a door before it was forced open, although nothing appears to have been stolen.

Police say the would-be thief or thieves were possibly “scared off”.

A statement from Tayside Police Division reads: “Police Scotland is appealing for information about a break-in to a property in Lytton Street, Dundee, which happened about 7.30pm on Tuesday, November 5.

“A pane of glass was removed from a door before the door itself was forced open. It appears that nothing was stolen, and those responsible may have been disturbed or scared off before they managed to take anything.

“If you have any information that could assist our investigation, particularly if you live in the area and have private CCTV, please call 101 or speak with any police officer.

“Also, information can be given anonymously through Crime Stoppers on 0800 555 111. Our reference is CR/29879/19.”
