A dopey thief smashed his way into a Dundee menswear shop and was caught on his knees fishing for clothes through the broken window.
Andrew Sean Cussick, 32, a prisoner at HMP Perth, was seen stealing from Slaters on the High Street on September 30.
Dundee Sheriff Court heard Cussick was seen attempting to smash the window of the shop, which specialises in suits and other formal attire, just before midnight.
He picked up a drain cover and threw it against the glass, smashing it, then tried to climb in.
He then reached in and tried to grab items which had been placed on public display.
Police officers found Cussick on his hands and knees on the street.
He had a number of items in his possession, including jeans that could clearly be seen falling out from under his jumper and T-shirts spilling from his waistline.
He was arrested and taken to the nearby Bell Street police station where he was charged with breaking in to the shop and stealing clothing.
Depute fiscal Stewart Duncan told the court the cost of the damage to the shop front was estimated to be around £550.
Cussick admitted he broke into the shop and stole four T-shirts and three pairs of jeans.
His solicitor said he had been in the throes of a severe crack-cocaine addiction at the timea nd understood that jail was inevitable considering his record.
Sheriff Thomas Hughes sentenced Cussick to 12 months in prison, reduced on account of his early guilty plea backdated to October 1.
