An Arbroath man bit his partner’s nose and poured beer over her head during arguments involving her phone.
Corrie Anderson, 24, pled guilty to a series of charges at Dundee Sheriff Court including assault and butting a picture frame.
Sheriff Alastair Carmichael deferred sentence on Anderson, a prisoner in Perth, until March 27 for reports to be prepared.
Anderson was remanded in custody in the meantime.
On April 14 last year Anderson was in a flat in Abbotsford Road, Arbroath, with his partner.
The pair had been drinking and the woman fell asleep on the sofa.
She awoke to find Anderson pinning her down on the sofa after he had been looking through her phone.
A struggled ensued, during which Anderson restricted her breathing by placing his hand over her face and bit her nose.
Prosecutor Kirsten Letford said: “Throughout the assault the accused would say ‘sorry’ but continued to assault her.”
Anderson also rhetorically asked the woman: “Do you want me to kill you?”
When the woman threatened to phone the police Anderson said he would kill himself in her dad’s bathroom if she did.
Police arrived on the scene to find the woman in a state of shock, and reddening to her nose.
On November 15 he again became irate after going through the woman’s phone.
She was in the bathroom at the time vomiting as she was anxious about another matter.
Anderson poured beer over her head and butted a frame containing a picture of her family, damaging it.
