Fears that Strathmartine Hospital had been set on fire again tonight have been caused by a garden fire near to the derelict building.
The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service received a number of calls from concerned residents on Thursday evening worried that the abandoned site had once again been targeted by firebugs.
However when they attended the scene fire crews found found the cause of the alarm was actually a garden rubbish fire close to former hospital.
Strathmartine Hospital has been targeted a number of times by firebugs in recent years, with fire crews called to the building on at least four occasions last year.
