Business owners in Dundee who have been providing vital services have been asked to join a register of support.
Dundee City Council created the register to help link people with companies providing the services they need.
City development convener Alan Ross said: “This is a fantastic development which helps harness the resources we have in the city to support the vulnerable through this crisis.
“The business community has been really clear that it wants to help where it can.
“That is all the more admirable when you consider that many firms are going through their own struggles right now.
“Among the list of businesses who have offered support are many which have had to close their own doors because of the restrictions currently in place to prevent the spread of coronavirus.
“It’s that sense of pulling together in personal and collective adversity which will get us through this difficult period.”
Offers of support have included vehicles and drivers, accommodation, food and equipment, as well as specialist expertise.
Mr Ross added: “The creation of this register continues the valuable support that businesses have offered since the start of the outbreak.
“I never doubted that the business community would want to help in every way that it can, but it is nonetheless a source of great pride and says much about our city.
“I’m immensely grateful to every firm on the register and to all those contributing what they can in these challenging times.”
