4x4 left submerged in water near the Dighty was result of test drive gone wrong
A 4×4 which was left abandoned near the Dighty water was the end result of a test drive which went badly wrong.
A member of the public discovered the ditched vehicle after walking past Clearwater Park on Saturday afternoon.
It was initially thought that the vehicle had been dumped in the Dighty itself, but police later confirmed the jeep was left in a “large puddle” close to the water.
Officers were informed of the incident and began making efforts to trace the vehicle’s owner.
Now it’s emerged that the 4×4 was left submerged in water after its driver attempted to enjoy an off-road test drive.
A police spokesman confirmed: “Everyone who was in the vehicle is safe and well.
“It appears to have been someone who was out for a test drive and decided to try to go off-road.”
