A barmaid was left with a cut on her eyeball after a drunk smashed a window causing pieces of glass to fly into her face.
Anthony Deans flew into a rage when barmaid Chelsea Wolecki kicked him out of Dundee’s Bush Bar, in the city’s Seagate, because he was too drunk to be served.
Miss Wolecki repeatedly asked him to leave – but Deans kept trying to return.
He eventually flipped and punched a pane of glass in the door – causing it to shatter.
Fiscal depute Saima Rasheed told Dundee Sheriff Court: “She tried to protect herself but she was hit by glass and blood was seen to come from her face.
“Glass got in to one of her eyes and she sustained a cut to her eyeball. There were other lacerations to her face and arms.
“During the incident he also repeatedly punched another customer.
“Police were called and at 1.30am the following morning police attended his address and were invited in.
“He took an instant dislike to one of the officers. He was asked on several occasions to calm down but kept challenging them to fight.
“He threw a punch that connected with the officer’s nose.
“He then headbutted another officer and was restrained, but then lashed out at a third officer.”
Deans, 39, of Erskine Street, Dundee, pleaded guilty on indictment to two charges of assault and three of police assault.
The attacks on Miss Wolecki and Raymond Bruce occurred on the evening of February 1, while the police assaults took place in the early hours of February 2.
Sheriff Lorna Drummond QC deferred sentence until next month for social work background reports.
Deans was released on bail meantime.
