Watch: View singer Kyle Falconer asks Thai orphans to Stand By Me

Kyle Falconer.

The View singer Kyle Falconer has been putting his time in rehab to good use.

The singer checked into Lanna Rehab in Chiang Liang in Thailand after his drunken behaviour forced a plane to be diverted to France.

The Same Jeans singer even postponed his wedding to enter the 56-day programme, claiming it was his “last chance” to clean up.

But he has also been using this time to help out with music lessons at the nearby Im Jai orphanage.

A video posted on Facebook by Lanna Orphanage shows Kyle and a group of youngsters paying Ben E King’s classic Stand By Me on ukuleles.

His efforts have been so successful that Lanna Rehab intends to set up a foundation to teach music to orphans.

Lanna Rehab posted: “Lanna Rehab is so proud of the community work Kyle has done with the local orphanage kids with ukulele lessons. Check out how far the kids have progressed… the kids even do lead solos each now.

“I’m not sure who got more out of this project, Kyle or the kids.

“In fact, I was so impressed that we have set up a Lanna Foundation, that we will continue to contribute funds so we can provide music teachers, instruments and ongoing lessons for the kids at Im Jai School.

“The kids are going to miss you Kyle… but I think you are going to miss them just as much.”
