The manager of a burnt-out Indian restaurant in Dundee has hit back at online rumours to insist the devastating fire started  through “natural causes”.

Mint Tapas was evacuated on Friday night after fire broke out in the restaurant’s kitchen.

Manager Mohammed Naeem, has responded to online allegations claiming the blaze was intentional.

He said: “On Facebook some people are saying things that are not appropriate, but the fire brigade would not hand us back the key if they were not satisfied, they would have other people here.

“We have a duty to the people of Dundee to let them know how this happened.

“It’s very unfortunate, but it’s a result of natural causes. Six years work has gone in one night.”
