A lucky Dundee United supporter was left shocked after he got a surprise visit from club legend Hamish McAlpine on Friday night.
Martin Stewart, who won McEwan Fraser Legal’s latest fan competition, was left stunned when the footballing hero rocked up on his doorstep armed with snacks and drinks ready to watch the Hibernian v Dundee United match with him.
The competition, named #HomeAlone, gives a lucky fan that can’t make it to an away game the chance to watch the match on TV with a club legend.
Martin and his son were stunned to find the Tannadice favourite on their doorstep.
Martin, who can no longer make away games, was nominated for the honour by his wife.
Martin said: “I can’t believe I got to watch the match with Hamish. I’ve been a United fan my whole life and grew up watching him in goal.
“I had no idea my wife had nominated me for the competition but I’m glad she did. It’s a night I’ll never forget.”
