Police are warning the public not to approach Mr McCafferty
Dundee police are appealing for help in locating a convicted prisoner who has had his parole license provoked.
35-year-old James Michael McCafferty was reported to police on April 25 and is known to frequent the Stobswell and Hilltown areas and may be sleeping rough.
The public are urged not to approach him but instead call 999 immediately.
He is described as being five foot six inches tall, of slim build with short brown/fair hair.
The appeal comes after a series of distraction thefts in the Stobswell, Maryfield and Douglas areas, with police hunting a man who fits the same description and is also believed to be sleeping rough.
The oldest victim of the thefts was 100 years old.
