Conditions will become milder across Courier Country this weekend, but forecasters say we are still far from summer climes.
The Met Office said the miserable conditions which have plagued the region in recent days will ease this weekend, but that we are nowhere near returning to the highs experienced during the mid-June heatwave.
There will be the odd shower in Tayside and Fife on Saturday and Sunday, though the sun is also expected to come out on the mornings of both days.
However the mercury is not expected to rise above 17C.
Aberdeen Met Office meteorologist, Fraser Ralston, said: “It will be better than it’s been. There will be a reasonable amount of dry weather over the week, bright and a little bit warm. Not too bad.
“There will be a few showers around late afternoon on Saturday. But I think Saturday morning will be quite pleasant with some sunshine and sunny spells. There will be a warmer feel, but quite breezy.
“Temperatures will reach about 17C. We have had about 12C or so over the last couple of days.
“In the earlier part of next week, Monday and Tuesday, a lot of the time looks dry and bright. Temperatures are in the high-teens, 16C – 19C.”
He added: “It will be pleasant but the wind pattern doesn’t look conducive to give us any summer type weather. It is a slightly more settled spell. We are not rocking off to the beach.”
