Man struck with bottle and woman kicked in face during Dundee attack

Police are investigating after a man and a woman were attacked on a Dundee street.

Officers say the “unprovoked” incident took place at the junction between Scotscraig Road and Gleneagles Avenue in Ardler.

The man was struck in the face with a bottle and the woman was kicked in the face during the attack by another man and woman.

The attackers were part of a group of four people.

The incident took place on Sunday, August 6 at about 2.30am.

The man being sought by police was described as in his twenties with dark hair and a Dundee accent. He was shirtless and had a Scotland crest tattooed on his chest.

The woman was described as in her twenties, with long blonde hair and a local accent. She was wearing a maroon jacket.

A police statement said: “Police Scotland are appealing for information about an incident which occurred around 2.30am on Sunday (August 6) in Ardler, Dundee, near to the junction of Scotscraig Road and Gleneagles Avenue.

“A man and woman were assaulted by another man and woman in an unprovoked attack, in which the female victim was kicked in the face, and the male victim was struck in the face with a bottle.

“Both were slightly injured, but very shaken. The attackers were in a group of four persons, however were the only members of the group involved.

“For the couple responsible for the assaults, the man is described as in his 20s with dark hair and a local accent. He was not wearing a shirt, but had a Scotland football crest tattooed on his chest.

“The woman is described as in her 20s with a local accent and long blonde hair, and was wearing a maroon tracksuit.

“If anyone has any information which could assist in our investigation, please call 101 or speak with any Police officer. CR/20452/17 is our reference number.”
