Man detained outside McManus after “at least four” police cars sent to chase him down on city streets

A major police presence was reported outside Dundee’s McManus Galleries this evening following a pursuit through city streets.

Officers were called to a disturbance on Whitehall Street at around 9.20pm but were forced to give chase after a man attempted to run off while being questioned.

A spokesman for Police Scotland confirmed the individual had been taken into police custody after “at least four” vehicles were called to the scene.

The man is understood to have been apprehended outside the gallery building.
