A police inspector has issued a statement as the force continues to probe a reported sexual assault in Broughty Ferry.
Officers have launched an investigation into the incident, said to have taken place on a footpath near Nursery Road on Wednesday, November 8.
On Friday afternoon the force confirmed its inquiries into the “isolated incident” are “ongoing”.
It comes after a 22-year-old man detained in connection with the sex attack was released by police, after being taken in for questioning.
Detective Inspector Keith Duncan said: “I understand that incidents of this nature are concerning for the community and I would like to reassure the public that we are taking it seriously and our inquiries are ongoing.
“A man was detained in relation to the matter and has been assisting officers with the investigation.
“This was an isolated incident and there is no wider threat to the community. The public should feel confident in continuing with their daily business.”
