Next group to play Dundee’s Slessor Gardens is revealed…

Steps will play Dundee in June.
Steps will play Dundee in June.

Nineties pop legends Steps are the next band to play Dundee, The Courier can reveal.

The group will play Slessor Gardens on Thursday June 22 as part of the band’s Grandslam 2018 tour.

Steps will be joined by noughties boyband Blue as part of their tour.

To add to the nostalgia, Aqua, the Scandinavian group behind “Barbie Girl”, will also perform.

Tickets for June’s performance go on sale this Friday from 9am and range from £39.50 to £65.

Dundee city development convener, Councillor Lynne Short, said: “This is really fantastic news for the city and it would be a tragedy if all the Steps fans of every age group didn’t come out and support the gig.

“Words are not enough to convey what a positive boost a concert by a group with the reputation of Steps will have on the city’s economy.

“This announcement adds to the excitement that is already building around next year and I want to say here and now that this is great news for the city.”
