A Dundee councillor broke his shoulder and damaged ribs after slipping on ice on Wednesday.
North east Labour councillor Brian Gordon is now recovering at home after spending five hours in Ninewells Hospital’s accident and emergency department on Wednesday.
He said: “I fractured by shoulder and ribs after slipping on ice.
“There is a lot of a pain – I had never felt anything like that before.
“I was up at A&E for five hours – there were a lot of people sitting there with similar injuries.”
Mr Gordon added: “I can’t blame anyone – it is nobody’s fault.
“It rained and then the freeze came quickly.”
