A disgusting pervert who had hours of indecent videos of young girls on his home computer has been told he is “very lucky” to avoid jail.

Daniel Francis-Lowe, of Arbroath Road, has been given a three year supervision order after police found more than 11 hours of footage of youngsters aged between the ages of three and 15 being abused on his computer tower.

Officers attended Francis-Lowes’ house and found it difficult to walk about due to the amount of detritus, rubbish and food waste which was piled high in every room.

The 29-year-old told officers when they knocked on his door “there will be stuff on my computer”.

Police found 31 videos, with a running time of more than 11 hours, depicting indecent images of girls aged between three and 15 being abused on his computer tower, hard drive and usb memory drive.

Francis-Lowe was told by Sheriff Thomas Hughes he was “very lucky” not to be going to prison as he was placed on the sex offenders register for three years.

He was further banned from owning more than one computer or mobile phone, placed on a three-year supervision order and banned from having any unsupervised contact with children under the age of 17.

Francis-Lowe must also complete the requirements of the Tay Project sex offenders programme and register any device he owns’ serial number with his supervising officer.

Defence solicitor Paul Parker-Smith asked for Sheriff Hughes to allow for 24 hours for his client to cancel the contracts and get rid of his mobile phone, computer and Playstation, all of which could connect to the internet.

Sheriff Hughes said: “This type of offence is appalling. It is not a victimless crime, children suffer as a result of this type of offence.

“You are very lucky I am not sending you to jail. The information in the report shows substantial work can be done with you.”

Francis-Lowe admitted that between April 11, 2011 and December 19, 2016, at 89 Arbroath Road, he possessed indecent photographs or pseudo photographs of children and that between April 11, 2011 and June 10, 2016, at the same location, he took or permitted to be taken or made indecent photographs or pseudo photographs of children.
