Participant Avril Gold, of Dundee, braved the water with daughter Rachel Key.

Avril said she was ready for anything that comes her way in 2018 following the dip, adding: “I’ve been having cold showers for a month. We can take on any challenge now”.

Both said they would definitely take on the challenge again.

A number of ‘loony dooks’ also took place across Fife.
