The city’s best sports stars were celebrated at a grand ceremony at the Caird Hall.

In one of the biggest nights on the sporting calendar, hundreds of guests packed out the venue to see the achievements of
athletes, coaches, teams, clubs and
volunteers recognised.

Organised by Leisure and Culture Dundee, the 2017 Dundee Sports Awards saw individuals and clubs fight for 11 different categories.

Started as an annual event in 2000, the awards aim to celebrate sports stars of all ages across the city.

Elite-level athletes were honoured to ensure their success is known and celebrated, with normal Dundonians also given accolades to highlight extraordinary work in communities.

The Dundee Hawkhill Harriers scooped the Club of the Year gong, while Iona Macleod  landed the Young Sports Person of the Year and Natasha McKay was heralded as the Sports Person of the Year.

Other prizes included Community Coach of the Year, Young Volunteer of the Year, Lifetime Commitment Award and Team of the Year.
