An Arbroath man is to stand trial accused of stealing two motorbikes from a garage in Dundee.

Colin Simpson, 22, is alleged to have broken into premises belonging to Karen Valentine in Sandhaven Gardens, on June 4 last year.

Simpson, of Newton Avenue, Arbroath, denies he stole two off-road motocross bikes from the garage.

He is due to go on trial at Dundee Sheriff Court on July 7, with an intermediate diet scheduled for June 5.

In a separate case, a Claverhouse man had his case continued without plea after he was accused of making racist comments towards a man at a casino last year.

Darren Cree, 23, is alleged to have behaved in a threatening and abusive manner on October 13 at the G Casino on West Marketgait, Dundee, and to have made racist comments to Adam Branicki.

Cree, of Emmock Woods Drive, is due to return to court on April 27.
