An appeal to trace a beloved iPad reported missing from NHS Tayside Children’s Hospital has gone viral online.
A post published on the health board’s official Facebook page on Thursday racked up more than 300 shares in less than two hours.
Staff reported that the iPad Air, which was last seen in a purple case, had gone missing from a high dependency ward.
They appealed for anyone who may have visited ward 29 at the children’s hospital to check their belongings in case it had been carried out by mistake.
It is understood the device provides a “much needed distraction” to the children who often spend long periods in bed recovering.
The post has since racked up scores of comments from kindhearted Tayside residents, with many offering to donate to pay for a new iPad for the hospital.
It reads: “iPad Air please come home – the children are missing you.
“An iPad Air in a purple case has gone missing from ward 29 High Dependency at the Tayside Children’s Hospital and is very much missed by the children in the ward.
“We have had a good thorough look round the ward for the iPad but sadly it has not turned up.
“We are appealing for anyone who visited ward 29 in the last two weeks so please check any bags, holdalls etc as it may have been accidentally picked up.
“The iPad was donated to the ward and was particularly popular with the children in High Dependency as they often spend longer spells in their beds.
“It has a nice selection of games on it and provides a much needed distraction to the children.”
