Around 15,000 revellers turned out for this year’s WestFest Big Sunday in Dundee’s West End.
The week-long community festival culminated in a varied line-up of musicians including Bombskare, Coconut Groove, The Mnemonics, Dundee Schools Rock Band and Buffalo Soldiers, who played at Magdalen Green on Sunday.
A range of food, stalls and activities for all ages including a bouncy castle were also on offer at the event.
Despite the weather not being as warm and sunny as earlier this week, the “fantastic” turnout was praised by West End councillor Fraser Macpherson.
He said: “The volunteers who organise this event have done a fantastic job.
“I was delighted to see the fantastic turnout – there were thousands of people present and that’s a testament to the hard work of the organisers.
“People really enjoyed the music and there was also the chance to visit various stalls to learn about all the community organisations that are in the area.
“I, myself, ended up being put in the ‘stocks’ as part of an activity by Friends of Magdalen Green.
“It’s great to see local residents and people from further afield come to enjoy themselves at an event like this.
“I’d like to thank everybody who came and everyone who was involved with organising WestFest.”
Fellow West End councillor  Richard McCready also had a go at being put into the Friends of Magdalen Green “stocks”, while having water thrown over him, to help raise money for the group.
He said: “I want to pay tribute to all those who have worked so hard to make WestFest a great success.
“The committee do a lot of work over the course of the year and deserve our thanks for what they have contributed to the community.”
Greg Thomson, one of the WestFest organisers, added: “We had a bit of drizzle at the beginning but after that it was jumping.
“People were really enjoying the music and there were more people than in previous years.
“Last year we had around 12,000 and I’d estimate we had around 15,000 this year.”
