A 51-year-old man has been arrested after police swooped on the Brantwood Avenue area of Dundee on Tuesday.
Witnesses said they saw several officers and cars in the Glens around 12.30pm.
A Police Scotland spokesman said: “Police Scotland can confirm that a 51-year-old man has been arrested in Dundee in connection with alleged online offences.
“Enquiries are at an early stage.”
It is understood police were called after a group of people who claim to hunt down offenders on the internet arrived in the street.
