A group of men who carried out an “unprovoked attack” and hurled homophobic abuse near a Dundee fast food outlet are being sought by police.
Three men are said to have been assaulted by a group of four close to McDonald’s on the city’s Reform Street on Friday, August 17 at about 3am.
The trio were also subjected to homophobic abuse.
They had to be taken to hospital to be treated for minor injuries.
Four men, described as being in their early-20s, are being sought.
Police said they moved down High Street to a taxi rank opposite Union Street, where they got into a white vehicle, possibly a Dacia.
Tayside Police Division said: “Police Scotland is appealing for information about an incident which took place about 3am on Friday, August 17 near to McDonald’s in Reform Street, Dundee.
“A group of three men were approached by another group of men, and assaulted in an unprovoked attack.
“They were also subjected to homophobic abuse. All three suffered minor injuries which required hospital treatment.
“Officers would like to trace four men, all described as white and in their early 20s. The first is described as being of large build with dark hair, wearing a white top, black jacket, dark trousers and dark shoes.
“The second is tall with dark hair, wearing a dark jacket, white shorts and black shoes.
“The third is slim, wearing a black short sleeve shirt, black trousers and white shoes. Finally, the fourth is described only as wearing all black clothing.
“CCTV has shown this group walk away along High Street to the taxi rank opposite Union Street, where they got in a white taxi, possibly a Dacia.
“Anyone with any information should contact Police Scotland on 101, quoting CR/19905/18, or speak to any police officers.
