Fire crews tackle blaze at farm on the edge of Dundee

A major fire has broken out at a farm on the outskirts of Dundee.

Six fire engines and police are in attendance as crews tackle the blaze at Balmydown Farm, near Baldovan Woods and Strathmartine Hospital.

A Scottish Fire and Rescue spokeswoman said an outbuilding was reported to be alight at 7.45pm on Monday  but nobody was inside.

The fire was reported at 7.45pm on Monday.

This comes just three weeks after a blaze took hold at a field next to Pitempton Road, also near the hospital, which took almost two hours to put out.
