VIDEO: Watch hundreds queue to get into V&A as general admission begins

Queues stretched back to Discovery Point as hundreds of people lined up to see V&A Dundee on the first day of general admission.

The Kengo Kuma-designed museum opened to the public on Saturday but due to the anticipated rush of people, admission was on a ticket-only basis, with briefs allocated via a ballot.

Queues have formed outside the V&A.

Around 6,000 people visited over those weekend with around 20,000 attending the 3D Festival held to celebrate the museum’s opening.

On Monday morning, hundreds more people queued ahead of the museum opening its doors at 10am.

At the front of the queue was Ali Shannon, 56, from Guildford.

She said: “I came up on Saturday but didn’t realise you had to have a ticket.

“I’ve stayed an extra day and had to get somebody to cover me at work so I could come today.”
