A disused school was broken into before a fire was started, it has been confirmed.
Police Scotland is appealing for witnesses to the incident, which happened at around 6.15pm on October 17.
St Vincent’s Primary School in Pitkerro Road was broken into before the deliberate fire was started.
A number of youths were seen entering the school, which closed in the summer, at around 5.20pm. They were in their “mid-teens”, but no further description is available.
The fire was quickly extinguished by Scottish Fire and Rescue Service, who has since confirmed the fire was started deliberately.
Police Scotland is asking for anyone that may have information to contact them with the reference CR/25327/18.
