A former car valeter is standing trial accused of sexually assaulting an underage girl and a woman at a Dundee house.
It has been alleged that Andrew O’Neill, 57, engaged in sexual activity with a child aged under 16 by standing over her while she was asleep, taking her hand, placing it on his genitals and rubbing his genitals against her face.
The alleged offence was said to have happened between May 1 and June 30 2015.
He was also charged with sexually assaulting a woman by standing over her while she slept, exposing himself and touching her face with his genitals on an occasion between June 7 and July 2 2015.
The complainants contacted police in 2017.
O’Neill, now unemployed, claimed the allegations had caused his health to deteriorate and denied the charges against him during his trial on Wednesday.
He claimed that both his alleged victims, who cannot be identified for legal reasons, were lying and that they had done so after various “issues” between himself and them.
Taking to the witness stand, O’Neill added: “I was shocked, surprised and saddened (on hearing the allegations)”.
“Everything they have said is a lie. It never happened, I’ve never done it.”
O’Neill, of Dryburgh Gardens, accepted he had gone into rooms where the alleged victims were sleeping.
However, he said the only contact was shaking them awake – on one occasion because he wanted to “release” a beaded curtain that had become trapped under one of the complainants, and on another, to ask the other complainant to lock the door downstairs.
Fiscal Depute Saima Rasheed put it to O’Neill that there were inconsistencies in his account of events.
When confronted by his former partner over the accusations, he allegedly told her he had been wearing a housecoat at the time and the belt had hit one of the complainants in the face as he was waking her.
However, in court he denied he had said that, claiming he had been fully clothed and that his ex-partner was lying.
The trial will continue at Dundee Sheriff Court on Thursday.
